If you look at the ears of this rhino you can see that it has been 'notched'. Small pieces of skin have been cut out of the ear. This is a common practice in rhino conservation - it allows for medical testing but it also provides a great Identification tool. We used these notches to figure out who was who for the rhinos on the reserve.
